Species information

Melaleuca linariifolia     Sm.

This native tree is commonly known as flax-leaved paperbark.

Melaleuca linariifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region with no official records. Reported in the Bauple Forest, Tuan Forest, Tinana Creek and Tinnanbar area which is the likely northern limit.  Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 7 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple Forest, Dunmora, Maryborough, Owanyilla, Point Vernon, Talegalla Weir, Tuan Forest.
