Dendrocnide moroides     (Wedd.) Chew

This native shrub is commonly known as Gympie stinger.

Dendrocnide moroides is described as a "dicot" in the Urticaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Very uncommon in the Fraser Coast region. One report from Lenthalls Dam. Official distribution south of Gympie and northern Queensland.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
