Species information

Gaudium neglectum     (Joy Thomps.) Peter G.Wilson

This native shrub is commonly known as coast tea-tree.

Gaudium neglectum is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Replaces Leptospermu neglectum (Queensland Flora Census 2023). Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region. Recorded from Burrum Heads and St Mary. Also reported at Tinnanbar and Toogoom. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: St Mary, Tinnanbar, Toogoom.
