Species information

Gaudium semibaccatum     (Cheel) Peter G.Wilson

This native shrub is commonly known as wallum tea-tree.

Gaudium semibaccatum is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Replaces Leptospermum semibaccatum (Queensland Flora Census 2023). https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/136250859 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 12 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Boonooroo Plains, Burrum Heads, K'gari, Pacific Haven, Poona, Sunshine Acres, Tin Can Bay, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Tuan Forest.
