Species information

Apocissus antarctica     (Vent.) Jackes & Trias-Blasi

This native vine or climber is commonly known as water vine.

Apocissus antarctica is described as a "dicot" in the Vitaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Replaces Cissus antarctica (Queensland Flora Census 2023). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 26 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bauple Forest, Brooweena, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundathu, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Eli Waters, Gigoomgan, Glenbar, Gundiah, Howard, Kanigan, Magnolia, Malarga, Mount Urah, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Toogoom, Tuan Forest, Yerra.
