Species information

Hibbertia linearis     R.Br. ex DC.

This native shrub is commonly known as guinea flower.

Hibbertia linearis is described as a "dicot" in the Dilleniaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Three varieties recognised in Queensland. Leaves linear to linear- oblong to obovate, margin rarely with a few teeth, mostly 0.6-3 cm > 0.15-0.6 cm but sometimes longer (Flora of south-eastern Queensland). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 13 Fraser Coast localities: Brooweena, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Dundowran, K'gari, Mount Urah, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Tuan Forest.
