Species information

Homoranthus virgatus     A.Cunn. ex Schauer

This native shrub is commonly known as twiggy homoranthus.

Homoranthus virgatus is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Flowers usually white but some forms have red flowers (https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/138375923, https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/95254667).  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 9 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Booral, Burrum Heads, K'gari, Poona, Tin Can Bay, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Tuan Forest.
