Species information

Hovea acutifolia     A.Cunn. ex G.Don

This native shrub is commonly known as forest hovea.

Hovea acutifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

In the Fraser Coast region the recorded distribution is limited to Gundiah, Tin Can Bay and K'gari (Fraser Island) which is the northern limit.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 12 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bauple Forest, Boompa, Magnolia, Mount Urah, Poona, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tiaro, Tuan Forest.
