Ipomoea cairica     (L.) Sweet

This introduced vine or climber is commonly known as mile-a-minute vine.

Ipomoea cairica is described as a "dicot" in the Convolvulaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Also known as coastal morning glory. Listed as an invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014 but not prohibited or restricted. As at 01/07/2016 declared as a Local Law Pest Plant for the Fraser Coast region for K'gari (Fraser Island) area only.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 24 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bidwill, Boonooroo Plains, Booral, Dundathu, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Eli Waters, Glenorchy, Granville, Great Sandy Strait, Maryborough, Owanyilla, Point Vernon, Poona, River Heads, Susan River, Teddington, Tiaro, Tinana, Tinana South, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest, Urangan.
