Species information

Styphelia leptospermoides     (R.Br.) Spreng.

This native shrub is commonly known as bearded heath.

Styphelia leptospermoides is described as a "dicot" in the Ericaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Leucopogon leptospermoides (Queensland Flora Census 2020). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 16 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Boonooroo Plains, Burrum Heads, Craignish, K'gari, Mount Urah, Poona, St Mary, Takura, Teddington, Tin Can Bay, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Tuan Forest, Urangan.
