Styphelia rupicola     (C.T.White) Sleumer

This native shrub is commonly known as beard heath.

Styphelia rupicola is described as a "dicot" in the Ericaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

In Fraser Coast region at Mount Walsh only. Elsewhere distribution includes elevated areas inland from Miriam Vale and Sunshine Coast. Previously known as Leucopogon rupicola (Queensland Flora Census 2020). https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/48599071 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
