Species information

Gymnema pleiadenium     F.Muell.

This native vine or climber is commonly known as milk vine.

Gymnema pleiadenium is described as a "dicot" in the Apocynaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region with records only at Grongah national park and Mt Urah. Previously known as Marsdenia pleiadenia (Queensland Flora Census 2021).  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 4 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Malarga, Mount Urah, Teddington.
