Species information

Melaleuca nervosa subsp. nervosa     (Lindl.) Cheel

This native tree is commonly known as fibrebark.

Melaleuca nervosa subsp. nervosa is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Widespread distribution across northern Australia. Southern limit appears to be the northern bank of the Burrum River on the boundary of Fraser Coast region. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
