Species information

Melaleuca sieberi     Schauer

This native tree is commonly known as narrow leaved paperbark.

Melaleuca sieberi is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

According to Australia's Virtual Herbarium records distribution in Fraser Coast region is limited to Tin Can Bay locality. Widely reported elsewhere particularly in coastal areas. Outside of the region outlier records near Eidsvold and Goodwood. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 17 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple Forest, Beelbi Creek, Bidwill, Boonooroo Plains, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Dundathu, Dunmora, Kawungan, Pacific Haven, Poona, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tuan Forest, Urangan.
