Species information

Monotoca sp. (Fraser Island P.Baxter 777)    

This native shrub is commonly known as tall broom heath.

Monotoca sp. (Fraser Island P.Baxter 777) is described as a "dicot" in the Ericaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Tall shrub 3m, dull green leaves, glaucous beneath. White flowers. Whitish fruits, eaten by insect-eating birds (https://avh.ala.org.au/occurrences/076cb169-731a-433f-8970-574b652232d0). Similar to Monotoca elliptica. See discussion at https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/178639263.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
