Species information

Neonotonia wightii var. wightii     (Graham ex Wight & Arn.) J.A.Lackey

This introduced vine or climber is commonly known as glycine.

Neonotonia wightii var. wightii is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A long-lived climbing or creeping vine that often forms large clumps twining over fences and other vegetation (https://weeds.brisbane.qld.gov.au/weeds/glycine). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 14 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bidwill, Booral, Dundowran Beach, Gigoomgan, Glenwood, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Point Vernon, River Heads, Tiaro, Tinana, Urangan, Yengarie.
