Species information

Rhodamnia acuminata     C.T.White

This native tree is commonly known as Cooloola ironwood.

Rhodamnia acuminata is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Endemic to Sunshine Coast - Great Sandy -Wide Bay district (Peter Young). Ripe fruit July 2018, Burrum Heads.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 16 Fraser Coast localities: Boompa, Booral, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Duckinwilla, Dundowran Beach, Howard, K'gari, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Teddington, Toogoom, Tuan Forest, Yengarie.
