Species information

Rhodamnia rubescens     (Benth.) Miq.

This native tree is commonly known as scrub stringybark.

Rhodamnia rubescens is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Critically Endangered. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Northern limit Mount Bauple (Rainforest Plants of Australia. 2014. Gwen Harden, Hugh Nicholson, Bill McDonald, Nan Nicholson, Terry Tame, John Williams). Fruiting January 2018, Bauple. Now listed in Queensland as Critically Endangered due to susceptibility to myrtle rust fungus, Austropuccinia psidii. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
