Not native to Australia although naturalised at a few locations including south of Fraser Coast region at Noosa. Originated from Hainan and Taiwan (Atlas of Living Australia). Previously known as Schefflera arboricola (Queensland Flora Census 2020).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
