Species information

Solanum densevestitum     F.Muell. ex Benth.

This native groundcover is commonly known as furry nightshade.

Solanum densevestitum is described as a "dicot" in the Solanaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Main population from Gympie south with another population near Mackay (Gwen Harden, Hugh Nicholson, Bill McDonald, Nan Nicholson, Terry Tame, John Williams. 2014. Rainforest Plants of Australia). Prickles absent; long central ray of stellate hairs on upper leaf surface (Tony Bean, https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/149796660, https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/123188677). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Craignish, Pialba, Yerra.
