Species information

Sterculia quadrifida     R.Br.

This native tree is commonly known as peanut tree.

Sterculia quadrifida is described as a "dicot" in the Sterculiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Sterculia is included in the family Malvaceae in the Australian Plant Census. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 26 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Boompa, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Eli Waters, Gigoomgan, Glenbar, Glenwood, Kanigan, Magnolia, Malarga, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, Point Vernon, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Teddington, Tiaro, Toogoom, Urangan.
