Species information

Stylosanthes humilis     Kunth

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as Townsville stylo.

Stylosanthes humilis is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A low-growing (i.e. prostrate or decumbent) plant growing up to 0.4 m tall. Its stems are partially covered in tiny soft hairs, but may appear almost hairless. Its small fruit are sparsely hairy (i.e. sparsely pubescent) and are topped with a very long hook (4-6 mm long).(https://keyserver.lucidcentral.org/weeds/data/media/Html/stylosanthes_scabra.htm) 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 6 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Doongul, Maryborough, Point Vernon, Tinana South, Toogoom.
