Species information

Tecomanthe hillii     (F.Muell.) Steenis

This native vine or climber is commonly known as Fraser Island creeper.

Tecomanthe hillii is described as a "dicot" in the Bignoniaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Near Threatened. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

All Fraser Coast region records on K'gari (Fraser Island) which is the recorded northern limit. Distribution is south to Nambour area. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
