Species information

Toechima tenax     (A.Cunn. ex Benth.) Radlk.

This native tree is commonly known as pitted-leaf steelwood.

Toechima tenax is described as a "dicot" in the Sapindaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region with one disjunct record at Tiaro. Also reported at Rossendale, Booral and Glenwood. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/139201405 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Booral, Glenwood.
