Species information

Typha domingensis     Pers.

This native aquatic plant is commonly known as narrow-leaved cumbungi.

Typha domingensis is described as a "monocot" in the Typhaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Listed as an invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014 but not prohibited or restricted. Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 13 Fraser Coast localities: Bidwill, Burrum Heads, Craignish, Granville, Howard, Pialba, River Heads, Takura, Teddington, Tiaro, Toogoom, Urangan, Urraween.
