Species information

Backhousia oligantha     A.R.Bean

This native tree is commonly known as stony creek backhousia.

Backhousia oligantha is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Endangered. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Largely confined to a few locations in the Biggenden area including at Mt Walsh with an outlier on Mt Archer near Rockhampton. Habitat is Auraucarian microphyl vine forest (Austrobaileya vol 6 Number 3 2003). https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/51571505 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
