Species information

Gossia bidwillii     (Benth.) N.Snow & Guymer

This native tree is commonly known as python tree.

Gossia bidwillii is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 24 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bidwill, Boompa, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran Beach, Granville, Gundiah, Howard, Kanigan, Magnolia, Malarga, Maryborough, Mount Urah, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tinana, Tuan Forest, Urraween, Woocoo, Yerra.
