Species information

Sannantha bidwillii     (A.R.Bean) Peter G.Wilson

This native shrub is commonly known as twiggy myrtle.

Sannantha bidwillii is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Grows in deep sandy soils in eucalypt forest of coastal lowlands often adjacent to heathlands. Most inflorescences three flowered (Austrobaileya Vol 5. Number 2 1999). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 21 Fraser Coast localities: Aldershot, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Beelbi Creek, Bidwill, Boompa, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Duckinwilla, Howard, Magnolia, Mount Urah, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Tiaro, Tuan Forest, Walligan, Yengarie, Yerra.
