Species information

Banksia oblongifolia     Cav.

This native shrub is commonly known as dwarf banksia.

Banksia oblongifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Proteaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Flowering at Maaroom February 2016. Prefers slightly more elevated drier areas than Banksia robur. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 31 Fraser Coast localities: Aldershot, Beelbi Creek, Bidwill, Boonooroo Plains, Booral, Burgowan, Burrum Heads, Cherwell, Craignish, Dundowran, Dunmora, Granville, Howard, Kawungan, Maaroom, Pacific Haven, Poona, Prawle, Sunshine Acres, Susan River, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tin Can Bay, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Urraween, Walliebum, Walligan, Wondunna.
