Urochloa mutica     (Forssk.) Stapf

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as para grass.

Urochloa mutica is described as a "monocot" in the Poaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Brachiaria mutica (Australian Plant Census). Listed as an invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014 but not prohibited or restricted. Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 10 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple Forest, Craignish, Duckinwilla, Dundowran, Gootchie, Gundiah, Maryborough, Tinana, Toogoom, Urangan.
