Species information

Melaleuca leucadendra     (L.) L.

This introduced tree is commonly known as fine leaf paparebark.

Melaleuca leucadendra is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Natural distribution is north from the Gladstone area. Occassionally cultivated in the Fraser Coast region. Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Howard, Tinana, Walligan.
