Species information

Mezoneuron scortechinii     F.Muell.

This native vine or climber is commonly known as large prickle vine.

Mezoneuron scortechinii is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Recorded in the Fraser Coast region only on K'gari (Fraser Island). Also reported at Mt Urah, Mt Bauple, Grongah National Park, Tinana Creek, Mary River Heads and Takura. Previously known as Caesalpinia scortechinii (Census 2017).  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 7 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, K'gari, Magnolia, Malarga, Mount Urah, River Heads, Takura.
