Species information

Melaleuca salicina     (Sm.) Sweet

This native tree is commonly known as white bottlebrush.

Melaleuca salicina is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Near northern limit in the Fraser Coast region apart from outlying records near Monto and Watalgan. Flowering August 2016 Yengarie. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 35 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Booral, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Glenwood, Gootchie, Gundiah, Howard, Island Plantation, Magnolia, Mount Urah, Nikenbah, Pialba, St Mary, Sunshine Acres, Susan River, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tiaro, Tinana, Tinana South, Toogoom, Tuan Forest, Urraween, Walligan, Yengarie, Yerra.
