Species information

Ceriops australis     (C.T.White) Ballment, T.J.Sm. & J.A.Stoddart

This native tree is commonly known as yellow mangrove.

Ceriops australis is described as a "dicot" in the Rhizophoraceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Replaces Ceriops tagal in Wide Bay district (Queensland Flora Census 2014). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 11 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Burrum Heads, Craignish, Eli Waters, K'gari, Pacific Haven, Point Vernon, River Heads, Tandora, Tinnanbar, Tuan.
