Species information

Clematicissus opaca     (F.Muell.) Jackes & Rossetto

This native vine or climber is commonly known as small-leaved water vine.

Clematicissus opaca is described as a "dicot" in the Vitaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Also known as pepper vine. Large underground tubers dug up by scrub turkeys (Tim Thornton). Flowering Talegalla Weir November 2016.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 51 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Beaver Rock, Bidwill, Boompa, Boonooroo Plains, Booral, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundathu, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Eli Waters, Gigoomgan, Glenorchy, Glenwood, Gootchie, Granville, Great Sandy Strait, Gundiah, Howard, Kanigan, Magnolia, Malarga, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, Point Vernon, Poona, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Teebar, Tiaro, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Torquay, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Urraween, Walkers Point, Woocoo, Yengarie, Yerra.
