Species information

Commersonia leiperi     Guymer

This native shrub is commonly known as Leiper's commersonia.

Commersonia leiperi is described as a "dicot" in the Byttneriaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Endangered. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

According to the Australian Plant Census now known as Androcalva leiperi (Guymer) C.F.Wilkins & Whitlock and included in the family Malvaceae. Distribution in the Fraser Coast region in St Mary and Wongi State Forest. One record to the north of the region near Elliott River.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
