Species information

Corymbia gummifera     (Gaertn.) K.D.Hill & L.A.S.Johnson

This native tree is commonly known as red bloodwood.

Corymbia gummifera is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Records on K'gari (Fraser Island) appear to be the northern limit of the species. On the mainland records in the Tinnanbar area on the coast and in the west just outside the region near summit of Mount Walsh. Also reported at Torbanlea, Poona and Urangan. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/166217805  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
