Species information

Acacia penninervis var. penninervis     Sieber ex DC.

This native tree is commonly known as mountain hickory.

Acacia penninervis var. penninervis is described as a "higher dicot" in the Leguminosae (Caesalpinioideae, mimosoid clade) family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Occurs inland on the Great Divide (http://worldwidewattle.com/speciesgallery/penninervis.php). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
