This native tree is commonly known as marblewood.
Reported at 13 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple Forest, Booral, Craignish, Duckinwilla, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Howard, Magnolia, River Heads, Takura, Teddington, Tuan Forest, Urraween.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act this taxon is classified as Least Concern.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
Acacia bakeri is described as a "higher dicot" in the Leguminosae (Caesalpinioideae, mimosoid clade) family.
Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region recorded at Dundowran, Eli Creek, Craignish, Takura, Burrum River, Lenthalls Dam, River Heads, K'gari (Fraser Island), Tinana Creek and Mt Bauple. Northern limit is the Watalgan State Forest near Bundaberg.
