Acacia baueri subsp. baueri     Benth.

This native shrub is commonly known as tiny wattle.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Burrum Heads, Fraser Island, Tinnanbar.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act this taxon is classified as Vulnerable.
Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Acacia baueri subsp. baueri is described as a "higher dicot" in the Leguminosae (Caesalpinioideae, mimosoid clade) family.

Distribution south from vicinity of Woodgate in coastal sandy areas of Wide Bay and Moreton districts including K'gari (Fraser Island). Often overlooked due to small size. Most easily identified when flowering. After a hot bushfire at Tinnanbar in November 2018 seem to be in larger numbers than pre burn (Gary Brooks). ‘Back on Track’ priority plant species for the Burnett Mary NRM region. Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.
