Short Description  Araucarian microphyll to notophyll vine forest on Cainozoic and Mesozoic sediments

Notes  

Comments  12.9-10.16: Agathis robusta has a restricted distribution in the bioregion. Characteristic localities for the RE are Seaview Range near Brooweena, Tinana Creek and Flinders Peak area. Extensively cleared for pasture and cropping. Remnants can be degraded by weed infestation in conjunction with wildfire damage on margins.

Special Values  12.9-10.16: Habitat for threatened plant species including Planchonella eerwah, Coleus omissus, Sarcochilus weinthalii, Cupaniopsis shirleyana, C. tomentella and near threatened species including Hernandia bivalvis.

Fraser Coast region distribution  Large areas mapped inland including at Doongul, Brooweena and Aramara. Also at Mount Urah, Gundiah and Bauple. Small patches elsewhere including at Craignish near the coast.

Long Description  Microphyll to notophyll vine forest +/- Araucaria cunninghamii. Characteristic species include Argyrodendron sp. (Kin Kin W.D.Francis AQ81198), Araucaria cunninghamii, Agathis robusta, Backhousia myrtifolia, Cupaniopsis parvifolia, Dendrocnide photiniphylla, Rhodosphaera rhodanthema, Flindersia australis, F. xanthoxyla, Drypetes deplanchei, Olea paniculata, Diospyros geminata, Gossia bidwillii, Excoecaria dallachyana and Vitex lignum-vitae. Archontophoenix cunninghamiana often present in gully floors. Occurs on Cainozoic and Mesozoic sediments. Not a Wetland. (BVG1M: 5a).
