12.11.6: This RE has been compiled from individual 1:100 000 map sheets in addition to the units in Sparshott et al. (1997).
Special Values
12.11.6: Habitat for threatened flora species including Cycas megacarpa and Macrozamia parcifolia. This ecosystem is known to provide suitable habitat for koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus).
Fraser Coast region distribution
All mapped areas in far south-west of region.
Long Description
Open forest to woodland of Corymbia citriodora subsp. variegata generally with Eucalyptus crebra. Other species such as Eucalyptus exserta, E. tereticornis, E. moluccana, E. melanophloia, E. acmenoides, Corymbia tessellaris and Angophora leiocarpa may be present in scattered patches or in low densities. Understorey grassy or shrubby. Occurs on Palaeozoic and older moderately to strongly deformed and metamorphosed sediments and interbedded volcanics. Drier habitats than RE 12.11.5. Not a Wetland. (BVG1M: 10b).
