This native epiphyte is commonly known as grassy boat-lip orchid.

A small to largish clumping plant growing on trees. Pseudobulbs not present. Leaves numerous, flat, grass-like 15-25cm in length, drooping or spreading. Flowering racemes usually pendulous 10-30cm long with 5-20 21 /2 -3cm diameter greenish-orangey flowers, very similar to those of Cymbidium madidum. Flowering period October-November. Fairly common; Tandora; K'gari (Fraser Island); Teddington Weir; Bauple Mountain N/P. (Alan Logan). Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
Reported at 14 Fraser Coast localities: Booral, Brooweena, Burrum Heads, Craignish, K'gari, Mount Urah, Poona, St Mary, Talegalla Weir, Tandora, Teddington, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest, Urangan.
