Species information

Atractocarpus fitzalanii     (F.Muell.) Puttock subsp. fitzalanii

This introduced tree is commonly known as brown gardenia.

Atractocarpus fitzalanii is described as a "dicot" in the Rubiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Not native to the Fraser Coast region. A north Queensland species. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/110718534. Also reported at K'gari (Fraser Island) although possibly cultivated there https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/154393251. 

It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
