Diuris chrysantha     D.L.Jones & M.A.Clem.

This native groundcover is commonly known as double yellow tails.

Diuris chrysantha is described as a "monocot" in the Orchidaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region with a few records near Boonooroo Plains, Urangan and Susan River. Vernon Conservation Park, Poona National Park (Maaroom & Boonooroo), Burgowan (Churchill Mines Rd). A largish plant with 2 linear, erect grass-like leaves 6-10cm in length. Flowering stem 25-40cm high with 2-6 3-4cm high orange or yellow flowers marked with brownish blotches. Flowering period July-September (Alan Logan). Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Boonooroo Plains, Urangan, Walligan.
