Species information

Elaeocarpus reticulatus     Sm.

This native tree is commonly known as ash quandong.

Elaeocarpus reticulatus is described as a "dicot" in the Elaeocarpaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

In Fraser Coast region recorded from Fraser Island, Tinana Creek and coastal areas near Poona, Tinnanbar and Tin Can Bay. Also reported at Beelbi Creek, Craignish, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach and Tuan Forest. Fraser Coast populations at the northernmost coastal part of range (Peter Young). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 10 Fraser Coast localities: Beelbi Creek, Craignish, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, K'gari, Magnolia, Poona, Talegalla Weir, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest.
