Glossodia minor     R.Br.

This native groundcover is commonly known as small wax-lip orchid.

Glossodia minor is described as a "monocot" in the Orchidaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region recorded on K'gari (Fraser Island) and Poona National Park. Reported at Vernon Conservation Park (Walligan), Tinnanbar (Alan Logan) and Urangan. A very small, slim plant with a single linear, narrow-lanceolate, hairy leaf 2-4cm long at ground level. Flowering stem 5-12cm high with a single (rarely two) 1.5-2cm diameter purple flowers. Flowering period July-September (Alan Logan). Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Boonooroo Plains, Tinnanbar, Walligan.
