Species information

Aeschynomene brevifolia     L.f. ex Poir.

This native groundcover is commonly known as joint vetch.

Aeschynomene brevifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A native of Madagascar, probably naturalised in Queensland (Austrobaileya Vol3 No2 1990). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple Forest, Talegalla Weir, Tuan Forest.
