Species information

Alchornea ilicifolia     (J.Sm.) Muell.Arg.

This native shrub is commonly known as native holly.

Alchornea ilicifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Euphorbiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.


It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 37 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bauple Forest, Bidwill, Boompa, Booral, Brooweena, Burrum Heads, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Eli Waters, Gigoomgan, Glenwood, Gootchie, Gundiah, Howard, Kanigan, Magnolia, Malarga, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Nikenbah, Owanyilla, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tiaro, Tinana, Toogoom, Tuan Forest, Urraween, Woocoo, Yerra.
