Species information

Agiortia pedicellata     (C.T.White) Quinn

This native shrub is commonly known as wallum beard heath.

Agiortia pedicellata is described as a "dicot" in the Ericaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Northern limit of main distribution is coastal Fraser Coast region and K'gari (Fraser Island). An outlying record to the north at Byfield. Agiorta distinguished from Leucopogon by flowers in racemes not spikes (Spikes have flowers that are sessile) (Stanley and Ross. 1986. Flora of south-eastern Queensland, Volume 2). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Boonooroo Plains, Poona, Tinnanbar.
